Msc. Eng. Révérien GAHIMBARE is an Electromechanical Engineer and Renewable Energy Expert. He holds a Master’s degree in Renewable Energy Sciences from the “African Center of Excellence in Energy for Sustainable Development (ACEESD)” at the “College of Science and Technology (CST)” from the University of Rwanda. He also holds a civil engineering degree in electromechanical engineering (from the Faculty of Applied Sciences), obtained at the University of Burundi and a successful completion diploma for the first two years of the faculty of fundamental sciences at the Higher Institute of Military Executives (ISCAM).
One of the founding members of the Forum pour la Mémoire Vigilante (FMV), Msc. Eng. Révérien GAHIMBARE has been the President of the Executive Committee and Deputy Legal Representative of FMV since October 2017 up to the end of 2022. After that, he is the Chief Executive Officer of the FMV. He assists the Legal Representative in the day-to-day management of the organization’s activities. He is a part-time Assistant Lecturer at the Independent University of Kigali (ULK Polytechnics) since May 2023. From January 2023 up to now, he has carried out consultancy works in the fields of clean cooking energy development and photovoltaic solar energy production within a Rwandan company named “Evariste Best Multi-Services Limited (EBMS Ltd)”. From November 2021 up to December 2022, he also worked in a research project leaded by the University of Rwanda, in collaboration with GIZ and Volkswagen, on the feasibility study of using electric tractors, powered by solar energy, for the purpose of increasing agricultural production in Rwanda, with a great potential of being replicated across East Africa.
In Burundi, he taught for two years at the Military Institute for technical education (EMM), after having completed an advanced industrial attachment within the international electricity society of the great lakes countries (SINELAC), an organization based in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and managed by the Economic Community of the Great Lakes Countries (C.E.P.G.L). From 2008 to 2016, effective member of two non-profit associations and that are working for the general interest; he contributed to the achievement of these associations’ objectives for having successively occupied the functions of President of the monitoring committee within the association TWIYUNGE – ASBL and President of the executive committee & Legal Representative for twice of TUMENYANE-II-2002 association.
Msc. Eng. Révérien GAHIMBARE is currently also involved in the humanitarian assistance programs & projects design in general and more particularly those which have an important link with the following themes: energy production, access to electricity for communities who are devoid, renewable energies development (clean cooking energies, photovoltaic solar energies, biomass as well as small hydroelectricity, etc.) & their impact on production capacity in the various fields (agriculture, livestock, silviculture, aquaculture, etc.), the environmental health, environmental technologies as well as environmental assessment of policies and development projects, etc.
